Simplification Inc., a Winnipeg-based Canadian AI company founded by Nabeel Khan, today launched ARIA, an AI customer-experience platform designed to make AI-generated customer communications auditable, explainable and defensible, and opened Wave-1 early access to Canadian businesses in healthcare, bilingual retail, startups and ecommerce. The ninety-day evaluation program runs through November 22, 2026, as businesses face growing requirements to understand how AI systems interact with customers and how those interactions can be governed.

ARIA is built around a distinction between a conventional conversation transcript and an AI decision record. A transcript records what an AI system said and when it said it. ARIA records the decision context associated with the response, including the agent involved, information and knowledge-base sources used, applicable policy controls, and confidence information captured at the time of the decision.
"Most AI tools hand you a chatbot and a configuration screen," said Dr. Nabeel A. Khan, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Simplification Inc. "The important question comes later, when a customer, executive, compliance team or regulator asks why the system gave a particular answer. ARIA is designed to preserve the decision context needed to answer that question."
ARIA TARGETS THE GOVERNANCE GAP IN CUSTOMER-FACING AI
The launch comes as organizations move AI beyond internal experimentation and into direct customer interactions.
The European Union's AI Act includes transparency obligations for certain interactive AI systems, with those obligations applying from August 2, 2026, while separate provisions establish additional requirements for certain high-risk AI systems. Simplification says the resulting market shift is creating demand for AI systems that can provide not only an interaction transcript, but also evidence of how the system was governed at the time a response was generated.
Every inbound interaction passes through a twelve-step processing pipeline covering identity resolution, memory retrieval, policy and compliance gating, model routing, grounded response generation, source attribution and audit capture.
The platform currently supports ten communication channels, including WhatsApp, SMS, Telegram, Discord, Slack, Instagram direct messages, web chat, an embeddable widget, WordPress and email. When a customer moves between supported channels, ARIA is designed to maintain a unified customer context rather than treating each interaction as an isolated conversation.
ARCHITECTURE BUILT AROUND MEMORY, POLICY AND PROVENANCE
ARIA maintains customer context across seven memory zones. One zone is dedicated to cross-organization pattern analysis and has a hard minimum cohort threshold: no pattern is computed from fewer than five customers.
Simplification says that threshold is enforced through three independent control layers, including a database constraint, rather than solely through application-level configuration. The architecture is intended to make the privacy boundary resistant to configuration changes or administrative overrides.
ARIA also exposes 21 tools through the Model Context Protocol across supported AI environments, including Claude Desktop and compatible MCP clients, ChatGPT Custom GPTs and the OpenAI Agents SDK. These tools allow operators to retrieve customer audits, construct customer-journey flows and request attribution reporting using AI interfaces rather than relying exclusively on a separate administrative dashboard.
FROM CUSTOMER-EXPERIENCE PLATFORM TO GOVERNED AI LAYER
Simplification describes ARIA as more than a conversational AI application. The company's broader strategy is to create a governed decision layer for customer-facing AI, connecting identity, memory, policy enforcement, model routing, source attribution, audit records and AI-agent tooling beneath the customer interaction itself.
That architecture could allow ARIA to expand beyond customer support into other workflows where organizations need AI-generated interactions to be traceable and governed.
BUILT IN WINNIPEG
Simplification Inc. is headquartered in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where ARIA was designed and built. Khan said the company's location is part of its broader view of the Canadian technology ecosystem.
"I am building serious AI infrastructure from Winnipeg," Khan said. "Category-defining AI companies do not have to come from the usual technology centres. Canada has the technical talent and research depth to build infrastructure for the next stage of AI adoption."
Khan is a behavioral science researcher, technology architect and author whose work covers AI governance, AI compliance, production LLM systems, agent orchestration and auditable AI infrastructure. He is the author of AI Governance & Compliance Frameworks for the Middle East and The Full-Stack AI Engineering Series, a three-book series covering LLM systems in production, DevOps for AI-native platforms, and prompt systems and agent orchestration. His published research and technical work are available through NabeelKhan.com.
TRUST AND COMPLIANCE POSTURE
ARIA is architecturally designed against requirements relevant to PHIPA, HIPAA, GDPR, PIPEDA, CCPA and the EU AI Act. Simplification distinguishes architectural alignment from independent certification. Architectural alignment is not third-party attestation.
A SOC 2 Type 1 audit is in progress, with a Q3 2026 target. ISO 27001 is planned and has not yet started. The company publishes its current controls, certifications, limitations and outstanding gaps through the ARIA Trust Center.
AVAILABILITY
ARIA is available across five pricing tiers ranging from $29 to $499 per month, with Enterprise pricing available by arrangement. All paid plans include a 14-day free trial with no credit card required. Canadian businesses can apply for Wave-1 early access, with the evaluation program scheduled to close on November 22, 2026.
